Day 40 - Club Naples TV Resort, Naples Florida

As predicted the weather got really cold and the temp dropped to 43 with the wind blowing very hard. We slept well until 6am when the cold got to us. Ron put on the furnace and we warmed up quickly. Before leaving Monument Lake we walked around the CG and got more cool pictures.

It was another pleasant drive/ride to Naples. We arrived around 12:30 pm. We were originally booked in a corner site but one of the workers felt it was a bad spot to park such a large MH. I guess there have been issues with people cutting the corner short and hitting whatever is parked there. Been there and done that. We do not need any more headaches. In the picture the light gray area is the road and the darker gray where MH cut into the site to turn. Notice how far back the dark gray area is.  Parking there would have been asking for trouble.

We were given a pull through site in what we considered to be the tightest packed area in the CG. The MH’s are so close you can hear any and all conversations going on with the windows open.  Club Naples is considered a Resort but without resort space. LOL  - As we always say “We’re not going to live here.” Other parts of the park had  wider sites with park models and more room to move around. Many people own the lots and decorate as they choose.

Claudia, the unofficial greeter came to say hello and to find out how long we would be staying. Once we told her just two nights she was on her way. She did tell us about the brownie ice cream social at 2 pm  before she left. At 2 we went to the clubhouse and bought ourselves a sundae. There were no brownies so ice cream had to suffice. Ron was eating his sundae and stopped abruptly. He spit something out of his mouth thinking he had broken a tooth. Nope, it was two small pieces of what looked like glass or hard plastic. Hmmmm, how did that get into his sundae. After some prodding from me on the dangers of continuing to eat the sundae he finally went back to the ladies and showed them the glass/plastic.

Understand the ladies are volunteers and doing a good deed, however they were aware that the plastic container on the electric chopper they were using had broken and put the nuts out anyway. Ron knew this because the first thing they asked him was if he had put nuts on his sundae. Then they very nicely showed him the broken container and quickly retrieved the nuts from the table. Anyway he got a new sundae – no nuts or course. What are the odds that of all the people eating a sundae  with nuts and Ron would be the one to get the broken plastic pieces!!!! Again – as we always say – “100%”

We didn’t do much for the rest of the day, just chatted and discussed our travels to home, the cold and snow. After some investigation we determined we would take in the Naples Zoo with some very exotic animals not usually found in this country. Also included is a boat ride to view exotic birds. Sounds good, so looking  forward to another fun day.
