Well, we’ve finally become accustomed to the road noise and now most of the time we don’t even hear it. We thought it would be one of those things you learn to ignore and we were right. Didn't plan on doing much except explore the park and enjoy the weather.
We decided to walk over the old bridge out to the opening. It was the original road to Key West and Ron remembers traveling over the very narrow bridge when he was driving for his fathers business. The road was so narrow truckers had to pull their mirrors in to prevent having them torn off by another passing truck. One of the rangers stated that the highway was called the mirror highway because of all the lost mirrors. The old bridge has been closed for 40 years and you can see the dramatic deterioration from the elements.
The state park is quite beautiful and we spent a lot of time walking exploring and enjoying the ocean side and bay side. We walked through the butterfly garden, stopped for the views and enjoyed an ice cream.

Back at the MH we got Jewel to take her for her afternoon walk. Ron wanted to check out the other end of the CG where there were tent sites. The walk was beautiful and took 90 minutes round trip. The weather has been unseasonably cool with a brisk wind. It’s been cool for the people who live here but we think it is perfect.
After a quick dinner we took in another Ranger Program on the Night Skies. We have been to several astronomy programs and each one teaches us something new. The Ranger was excellent and very excited about the topic, making it extremely interesting. He took us out on the bridge that we had been on during the day and the night time views were spectacular. As we were leaving the bridge Ron looked over the side and we saw hundreds of Portuguese Man of War Jellyfish glowing in the water. It was quite a sight to see. Again, a great day in a beautiful place.
