It was incredibly quiet at the CG so we both got a great night’s sleep. Jewel was in her glory because we were no longer moving and she sacked out on the living room chair.
This morning as we were preparing to leave Jewel decided it was time to hide. Not sure what she was thinking but we could see her! LOL She really hates to ride.
It was 48 degrees out when we woke at 6 am and by Noon the temp was 72. Yes, a balmy 72 degrees with bright sunshine. Just what we were hoping for. We hadn’t decided how far we would travel today but thought we would be on the road for at least 4-5 hours. We stopped at the visitor center in South Carolina and picked up a lot of info on Charleston. Looks like a great place so we plan on spending several days there pending securing a CG.
By 3 pm we were settled in again at the Swamp Fox CG in Florence, SC. We have a membership with Passport America so have been able to get sites with full hook-ups for under $20.00 night. Well worth it for the comfort provided. We think we have reached a point in our life where staying in rest areas and Wal Mart parking lots has lost its intrigue. Must be the “age” thing.
Jewel got five walks today – yes 5 – good for her and us too! The majority of people in this CG are permanent residents so there were just a few transients like us. One set up from Canada caught our eye. They are towing a fifth-wheel with a huge tractor and also have a smart car loaded on the back of the tractor. Lots of money invested in that set-up.
We will be heading to Charleston in the morning and are looking forward to touring the historic homes, churches and Fort Sumter.
