Day 17– Seasons in the Sun RV & Motorcoach Resort, Mims, Florida

Well, we could have stayed and enjoyed an additional day at Fort Clinch but Ron decided it was time to move further South. So we prepared the MH for travel. Jewel didn’t like the idea and once again tried hiding under the picnic table. She still doesn’t get that she can be picked up and put into the MH.   LOL

The 180 mile drive was uneventful and we arrived around 2:20 pm. It is a resort type park with 90 % of the people staying for the season. The sites are bigger then usual, probably because most of the people are long-termers and the MH’s, trailers and fifth wheels are all newer and in good condition.

We were allowed to wash the MH for a $15.00 charge. The MH and car were so dirty that the first thing we did before opening the slides was get to work on the wash job. It took about  90 min. to wash the MH and car. Finally settled in we took a quick break and then  very long showers.

The guy next to us was very friendly and gave us some pointers on local restaurants. We opted for a place called Louie’s Barbecue. Yes, Ron was looking for southern barbecue again – so off we went. Ron got the barbecue and I got baby back ribs. The best ribs I have ever had – fall off the bone tender and juicy. Ron loved the barbecue too. It would be a place I would recommend as well.

Back at the MH we settled in and discussed Friday’s day of activity. We decided to go to the Kennedy Space Center for the day. We were told that it has been taken over by the private sector and had been commercialized but we will find out for ourselves.
